PHANTOM Coins (XPH)

Q: I am a CTR user and have missed the deadline to file my claim process on https://phantom.org/claim . How can I use the fall-back method to get my XPH?

A: At this time if you are a CTR user and have missed filing a claim or your claim was invalid the only way you are able to receive your XPH is through a Fall-Back Method which requires private key access. During the genesis block their will be fall back addresses assigned to non-claimed accounts so that exchanges, users, and others (if your region is available), to claim their XPH at a later date once the main network launches. To find out exactly how to start Fall Back Method please email support@phantom.org.

Q: I am a CTR user and I’m either a resident or citizen of the United States. I read that i am not eligible to receive the XPH forked coins. Will this ever change?

A: CTR users that are residents or citizens of the United States currently are not eligible to receive the XPH forked coins and complete their Genesis Validation. Unfortunately, we do not want to do this, however, it has been advised for legal reasons it is best to omit US resident/citizens at this time. The good news is that once the mainnet launches there will still  be a PHANTOM address created for you and credited a balance. However, your country will still be blocked from using the fall-back method tool. If this changes in the future then XPH and the fall back method will be made available to you. We hope for more clarity on this topic in the near future.

Q: I have finished my claim process on https://phantom.org/claim but I don’t see my PHANTOM address linked yet. Why is that?

A: At this time all PHANTOM addresses with valid claims have been linked. If you do not see your address linked or can’t find out CTR/ETH address in the Balance Checker Tool located at https://phantom.org/balancechecker then you must contact support@phantom.org for assistance.

Q: I see my PHANTOM address is linked to my ETH/ARK/CTR address. What do I do next?

A: After you can see that your PHANTOM address is linked to your ETH/CTR address via the https://phantom.org/balancechecker, you need to go the Genesis Validator to ensure you’re not in a restricted country. Visit https://phantom.org/genesis. Once you receive a “Success” Message that your form is complete, you are done! Congrats, the rest will be history.

Q: I have completed both Claim and Genesis tools on PHANTOM’s website. I have downloaded the PHANTOM Wallet Client and have imported my address from the claim, but my balance is 0, even though balance checker shows I should have XPH. Why is that?

A: That is absolutely how it should be. Currently the main network for PHANTOM has not launched. XPH will ONLY be distributed via the genesis block automatically on the launch of the network. Currently the network you are connected to is our testnet, which you can use https://faucet.phantom.org to get some test coins called XNC to test with while we prepare for the launch.

Q: Why will you not burn the XPH that aren’t claimed by Binance or other exchanges?

A: PHANTOM will not change the balance or influence the balance other than what is already stated in our Lightpaper. Binance and other exchanges will be able to redeem them at any given point in the future. If they decide not too, then they will remain idle forever.

Q: When will the main network be live so I can receive my XPH?

A: The Main Network for PHANTOM will be live as soon as it is technically able too. You only launch a main network once, therefore, we need to ensure that everything is stabile and ready for now and in the future when protocol upgrades happen from Phantom Improvement Proposals (PIPs). Once the network is launched it is out of PHANTOM’s hands, and in full control of the network operators/delegates. To streamline this process, using ARK as a base, makes this achievable at a faster rate than building a blockchain from scratch. We hope an anticipate a full network launch will be within Q4 2018. The PHANTOM team pushes to get this done as fast as possible.

Q: When will Binance or other exchanges let us know about the support of distribution of the XPH from the April 1st Snapshot?

A: That’s a question that we do not have an answer too. We are not pursuing this topic either. We did our part and reached out to any exchange that was holding a balance to notify them they will have an XPH balance for their users who had CTR at the time of the snapshot. It is fully up to the exchange to distribute to their users. The exchanges will have access to a fallback method to redeem the XPH at a later date if they ever decide to distribute. Our focus is on the technology and community of PHANTOM.

Q: When will XPH be listed on a crypto exchange?

A: We are not actively soliciting exchanges to list XPH. We have reached out to the exchanges that will have an XPH balance and have asked them to support the fork. It will be up to the exchange to list XPH, the PHANTOM team does not have any control over that.

Q: Is is true that PHANTOM is working on a ARK based DEX exchange?

A: PHANTOM is exploring the advantages of using SmartBridges to help create an interoperable Decentralized Exchange. No formal design has been created, but we are actively working and researching on ways to develop this platform.

PHANTOM ProtocolDesigned to be scalable and protect privacy

Scalable Infrastructure

PHANTOM has been designed to meet scalable needs. As others want to grow our network and build on top of it, they are able to to do so by running their own out-of-the-box blockchain and use smart bridges to be interoperable.

Encrypted Transactions

Protecting the sensitive data transacting through the blockchain has been the biggest hurdle thus far. Using PHANTOM the transactional data that interacts with smart contracts will be broken into pieces across multiple nodes so that one node alone can’t see the data but consensus is met.

Developer Friendly

PHANTOM uses ARK blockchain as a base which means the development of the project will be in Node.JS where users can create their own solution in a simple way.

Global Support

Our nodes will be operated from all over the world with developers across many continents. PHANTOM will remain an open-source project and we hope to see our community involved in its future.
